Not real programs

SANS Internet Storm Center specialists says that they have registered a huge amount of sent emails, which were organized by unknown sorces to make computer-zombie network. Spam emails there about somekind problems in Outlook system and they sugested to download updates to solve that problem. The problem is that these updates are trojans who might open all the way to the computer.
Some various internet sources there writing about this issue. There is no detail information about that how much users have clicked on thse links.

Pažymėtina, kad laiškuose, neva atsiųstuose Microsoft'o techninės priežiūros tarnybos, nurodoma asmeninė gavėjo informacija, šiuo atveju, paskyros naudotojo vardas, kuriuo buvo įvykdyta pašto dėžutės registracija. Taip padidinama tikimybė, kad naudotojas paspaus nuorodą, vedančią į kenksmingą „pataisymą“.

Well, I would say, history is quite an interesting "thing". The other day I found an interesting web site.
It is about Ancient Rome. According to other sites who have also written about this site, it has started just this month.

The primary purpose of this project was to spatialize and present information

Language

Today, after some time, I log into blogger.com and I see some nice and interesnting things. Maybe the most useful of them is that the administrating panel is now in Lithuanian language. Also the home page blogger.com is in Lithuanian. I would say quite a nice a job from blogger team.
Now the use of blogger.com is a bit easier. But ofcourse it is like a new experience to get used to new represenatation of all buttons and links and so on...

Accordint to delfi.lt this time you can get a messegae which suggests you to watch somekind new smiles and save them to your computer.

Extremelly warm weather

How to save energy?

This time it is about mobile phones and thier chargers. Have you ever though how often do you charge your mobile phone and how log does it take to charge it? Do you always uplug your charger from a electricity socket when the charging process is over?

Mobile phones usualy "says" when thier battery is alredy fully charged. If we unplug mobile phone from its charger, but charger it self is left still connected to the electricity socket, there might be some wasting of energy.

Nokia company is working to deal with this issue. They ar going to make mobile phones to remind thier users to unplug their chargers too. For example, they believe that they could potentially save enough energy to power some 85,000 homes every year.

There is a whloe article about that at itpro. After this and I my self thought what I am doing when my phone is charged. It seems that I always unplug and my charger from an electricity socket, and I would recommend to do it for everyone. And there is not just power saving tip, it also might be the importan factor for the successful charger "life".

Today i found some interesting news in computer games ground. The most interesting thing is that some of computer games is going to be free. But there is one but almost as usually in these cases.

Since the last day of May "GameTap" is going to ooffer some of their games for free. Well this free thing is not exactly free. Players will see comercial advertisments while the game will be loading. Also the games will have to be loaded using program called "LitePlayer" (because of advertisments). To play these games players will need to register for free accounts.

According to various web sources it is said that there will be and some new games, like "Tomb Raider Anniversary".

These changes in computer games industry might bring and more interesting ideas and events. It migth be popular thing, for example, players could try some games on that site before buying them. Of course if there will be chance to find the needed one.

How not to be lazy?

This afternoon I was sitting and thinking "what can I do today? hmmm... I want to read one book till the end, but... hmmm I have to strat preparing for exams, but...hmmm I want to paint my nails, but... hmmm I ... I don't know what to choos... hmmm... something wrong...hmmm .... ! ups... I am lazy.. ...". But it is not so bad, because my mood is good :) so I decided to ask my friends what to do and stop that laziness. And :-D one of them suggested to take some drugs. It was just a joke, because no one of them is not using and have never tried. Other sed "smoke grass" we started arguing :-D and finaly decided that drugs are evil. And grass...hmmm... :-D if we smoke grass we will be MORE lazy than before trying not to be lazy. So what I did. :) I just had my nail painted and that is all. :) If someone knows the way how not to be lazy, so please tell me. :)

Email spam and viruses

Recently I have read and a news announcement that there was revealed that there is possibilitie to get a spam letter already with a viruse attacht to it. I think this is already accouple of days old news.
Basicaly spam letters is trying to sell something to its readers, for example, questionable pharmaceutical products. If spam email is opened that might be the reason why next day email inbox just flooded with such letters. Why not to try to sell you something else if you have opened one spam letter. So this way it is possible to become a target for various spamers.
Now, why to send to letters, one with spam and another one with viruse if it is possible to do these things in one letter.
Reading spam letters might cause some serious problems. I guess there is no need to explain how viruses might be dangerous.
Accourding to various web sources the global ratio of spam in email traffic from bad sources was 76.1 per cent and it is higer numbers that some time before.

Various web sources writes that Joost has already signed broad programming partnership deals with Viacom and CBS as well as independent producers.
Maybe these events speaks about that Joost is going to be open for everyone who would like to watch TV online. The combination of TV internet and advertising might be very profitbale for its owners. I guess there would be some chances to adress advertisments corresponding viewers interests as this program is based on P2P network.

In short, according to various web sites, Joost, the IPTV company founded by the people that launched Skype, has signed up 31 advertisers worldwide ahead of the launch of its free internet TV service. So is it worth to expect that soon there will not be need to get an invitation to watch this television online.

The Magic of Conferences

When I hear somebody saying conference the first association which comes to my mind is boring.

But it isn't! People who loves their job or/and have a lot of experience bring a lot of interesting ideas and thougts to share. And I love atmosphere of confrences. I find it collegial, friendly and even romantic a little bit. And the small presents from organizers make you smiling.

When I am in a conference I feel I am a part of something really important. And I'm proud of myself. Even if I am only a participant, not speaker. And I get an inspiration to do something. For example, to try to do my best with thesis of master, or at least to spend a nice afternoon playing with my little son outside :)

However, the most useful thing in conferences is a possibility to meet a right person while drinking coffee or wine with some sweeties. The person who will become your employee or employer, or a partner to make a project. Or it can be a possibility to shake hand of somebody you like and respect very much: a politician, a scientist, a writer..

Everyday we use more and more services on the web and not only, that are protected with passwords. But are these passwords really secure, can we trust them.

Itpro.co.uk published a quite interesting article about organizations and there concerned about secure passwords. It seems that nearly three-quarters of IT professionals believe password security has become a bigger problem for companies over the last twelve months, according to a new survey.

According to itpro.co.uk "Executives are increasingly concerned with the misuse of passwords amongst colleagues and the growing danger of internal and external threats to the network."

So probablly this is not the only things to worie about. Viruses and spyware is also more and more often announced to cause big damages.

In short it is important to be very careful and to be sure that password is enterend in the right place.

Today is the day when some blog updates were made. Now everyone is welcome to try a sudoku game. You may find this game a bit below, on the right side of the blog.

Sudoku requires no calculation or arithmetic skills. It is essentially a game of placing numbers in squares, using very simple rules of logic and deduction. It can be played by children and adults and the rules are simple to learn.

The objective of the game is to fill all the blank squares in a game with the correct numbers. There are three very simple constraints to follow. In a 9 by 9 square Sudoku game:

• Every row of 9 numbers must include all digits 1 through 9 in any order
• Every column of 9 numbers must include all digits 1 through 9 in any order
• Every 3 by 3 subsection of the 9 by 9 square must include all digits 1 through 9

Similarly, smaller Sudoku puzzles, such as the 4x4 puzzle, must have the numerals 1 through 4 in each row, column and subsection. Larger Sudoku games (16 by 16) must have numerals 1 through 16 in each row, column and region. The principles are the same whatever the size of the game.

Joost - Internet TV

Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet, which uses new and established technologies to provide the best of both the internet and TV worlds. It allows searching for programmes and channels, for example, as well as social features like chat. There are many more new features to come in future Joost releases.

The program is based on P2PTV technology and is expected to deliver near-TV resolution images. It turns a PC into an instant on-demand TV without any need for additional set top box. News updates, discussion forums, show ratings, and multi-user chat sessions (often linked to the active stream/channel) are made possible through the use of semi-transparent widget overlays.

Joost is a new Skype co-owners project. Currently, the software is in beta-testing stage. A beta invite is required to join the Joost community.

Near future can show us new way to charge our batteries, just leave them out in the sun. A new European Union (EU) funded research project has designed a flexible polymer battery which recharges when exposed to light.

New battery is slim enough to use it even in mobile phones, flat smart cards. Does it mean that mobile phones could be charged just left out in the sun?

My Birthday

It was on 28th of March. The day when I had two big tests and long long day at university. But it was one of the lovliest. :)

I was very happy to get flowers, but it also sad to see how they were dieing without the water. Finaly I invented that I can soak them into a bottle of mineral water, whom drank me colleague. It was comic to carry this composition to lecture. :)

In thee end of the day, when I was going home by bus, people were looking strange to my flowers. BUT I fell very happy, even I knew, that I wrote my tests not very good.

Once again, I think interesting news...

Maybe everybody already knows that, but I got it just today...:)
Yesterday Yahoo officially announced, that they are going to make their e-mail boxes unlimited size from this year May..:). Now they offer 1 GB size mail box. For example Microsoft and Coogle now offers about 2GB and 2.8 GB mail boxes. It is a big chance, that there wont be necessary to delete old and very very old e-mails. But is it possible to use over 2GB just for mail? Of coure the situation changes then big attachments are used (foto, video, mp3 or somethink like that).

This might show, that IT technologies are developing very fast. A few years ago we were using for example just 4 MB mail boxes.

Summer Time

Lastly it seems that winter is gone and we have some worm weahter. It is the begining of summer time. And if I am correct this night is the one then we need to turn our clocks one hour ahead ( I gues it is important for lithuanians, I don't know if other countrys are goint to turn their cloks ahead now? ). It is important not to miss that, or it is big chance to be late every there...:)

Interesting finding...

Today I was surfing an internet to find out what is going new this day. I have to say I found interesting thing. It seems that technology companies werw working hard to make our wirelless networks more safer. One of such companies have created a special paints which have to painted on wall and they do not allow the network waves to get out side the building...

Quite interesting thing. Ofcourse I don't know exactly the security of this method, but the company "EM-SEC Coating" werw testing this method for ouver three years and know these paints are used by USA special forces.

So this is just small notion about still fast sience and technologies progress.

A hard day

At the moment I got up yesterday I felt something bad. The whole body was heavy. Later I undesrtood what was going on, nothing seriuos and it had nothing related with two stories bellow.

At the same morning while some my friends of Spanish class and me were waiting for a professor, I asked: "Girl, what's happening with you, you are so silent in this morning". And I got the answer I didn't expect. She said her mother has died a few days before. It was a young healthy woman of 49 years old. She was getting a shower and one vessel of the head broke... Can you imagine? In the morning everything is like always, and in the evening you find your mum died..

After my classes on my way to home I have met another friend with whom and our babies we go for a walk sometimes. The last time I saw her, she was crying. She didn't want to say what happend, she just said that she was going to meet her gynae. I fought maybe she was ill and it was something serious. and yesterday, when I met her I was really happy seeing her, but it seemed to me that she has lost some weight (despite that she always was very slim). We were talking about the fest of christening of her little boy. And later she told to me, that she was pregnant again. And that day a few weeks ago she made an abortion.. She decided to do it and her husband agreed with her because their first baby is still very little (he still hasn't one year old) and her organism still isn't prepared to have another baby.

I'm happy because of her, that she is happy now, but.. I deeply regret because of the baby. Even if I don't never it is easy to hear such a thing..

So, yesterday it was a painful day. And I have got a headache till the evening.

I need help

Maybe someone can suggest a subject about what to do my english presentation? Imagine that there is a lecture in which three people has 20 minutes to do their presentations abuot whatever they like. But I want that these 20 minutes when I will talk would be interesting for everyone. What topic should I pick?..

Creativity on the web

There was an interesting article about creativity on the web at itpro.
How do you think what is the most important thing to be successful on the web? This is more related to people who are not just simple readers (reading news portals, blogs or something like that). Worl wide web now is very flexible and fast groving. According to technorati almost every second a new web blog is created. So you can imagine the ammount of potential information.
Tim Berners-Lee says, that the web works, because it's collaborative, independent and universal. People can build on top of it, adding functionality. "You can do the thing which will be unveiled tomorrow which none of us here have imagined yet," he said.
So according to that article, the creativity is very important aspect working on the web. What do you think is it possible that without creativity your internet project may be failed?

How much time do we need?

Our grandparents can tell us about long evenings of winter then neighboures used to spent time weaving and singing at somebody's house or something like that. And nowadays we barely have time to ask "how are you?" when we meet a friend on the street. We are so busy! Always we are lating somewhere: to work, to a conference, to a meeting with our ewe lamb's teacher, to family dinner, etc.

Cars, computers, internet, mobile phones, washing mashines and much more pieces of new technology are created to make our lifes much more comfortable. And to save our time. But how much of us have time for reading a book? Or for meeting a classmate in order to talk about the past and the present? Or to build a snowman with our kids?

Usualy we say: "not now, maybe later". And the later never comes...

These ideas came to my mind after reading a book "Tyranny of the moment" by Thomas Hyland Eriksen. He says that we are living in the age of "tyranny of moment". It is neither good nor bad. Just slow time (time to read a book, to go to the theatre, to play with your own children, etc.) becomes a luxury thing in our lifes.

Personally I believe that namely slow time has a persistent value. So, maybe we can change something in our daily routine, can't we?

Is winter coming?

I live almost 23 years on this earth. And I don't remember such "winter" as we have this year. Even more, I've talked with one woman who is 85 years old. She also dosen't remember such weather in winter time. Some years ago we couldn't imagine Christmas without snow. We used to write Christmas and New years greetings about white soft snow and something.. It seems we have to forget such greetings because snow appears just now, in the middle of January. Though we have snow now, but still no freezing. There is still wet under snow, and children (me too) cannot ride sleigh. It's so pity! Anyway let's enjoy these winter views out of the window we finally have:)

Communication is the most important thing in our lives. We socialize to get and give information, to relax, to plain, and for many other reasons. It is so consequently that we live in community. Living in society is under pressure. Specially youth’s communication is complicated, because they want to be the best and afraid to reveal their sensitive personalities.
In the beginning people understood each other from flourishes and mimes. Words are just symbols which have no meaning. People give the meaning for them. The 65 percent information which is delivered is not verbal and only 35 percent – verbal. But when the message is connected with intense emotions, then not verbal signals reach 93 percents. Because of that a lot of young people fear that they can be not conceived. Sometimes words might sound strange and youths might tease. They don’t understand that we all are similar. Once you were laughed you will never open your heart again for that person and for others…You try to protect your self. But it is wonderful that if you show good-fellowship so you get the same.
Do you know, that youths who looks strong, actually are weak and sensitive in their hearts? They want to be invulnerable. Do you know that youths who always protect others, actually they want to be protected. Protecting others is like words: “I also want to be protected…” Do you know, that the most difficult to say: “I love you”, “for give me”, and “help me”. The reason is that young people afraid to be outcast with his/her feelings. It is unpleasant to admit you need help. Do you know that youths who wear red clothes are self-confidence. Do you know that youths who wear black clothes, want to be unnoticed and they are waiting for your support and understanding. Do you know that if you help to someone the good will be back twice. It is hard to do firsts steps. But it is always pleasing to requite with goodness. Do you know that for youths it is easer to write about their feelings than to talk about them.
Young people live very difficult life. They have to be strong and brave if they want to seek something in their lives. Having friends is also complicated and pressuring thing. They just finding friends, they don’t know if they can trust them. And this fact confuse. Only after long years you can say who is your friend. Youths are trying to find them self and are learning to accept others the way they are.

Palanga is a resort city.
Questions about money are not well-liked.
Rain always starts when you don’t have an umbrella.
Sadly, our countrymen’s are not very happy with their living conditions.
Take tours around Lithuania in all seasons of the year, to see how Lithuanian’s nature changes.
Usual Lithuanians tries to pretend that everything is all-right even it is obvious untruth.
Vilnius is a capital of Lithuania.
Warm-hearted… whatever other says…Lithuanians are warm-hearted even they try to deny it.
Xenophobia is not very often phenomenon.
You have to be very polite.
Zeppellin do not fly in Lithuania it is not a dirigible – it is Lithuanian’s national dish.
