Zahir is coming back!!!

Do you remember? Once I've said I was going to read The Zahir,

and I promised to tell you my impressions about the novel. Like I was told it was really love story. And really nice one. And it was from very beginning till the end full of surprises.

He is a writer, she is a journalist. They were married. She has left him without saying nothing. And although he knew she was alive and he loved her, he lived with another one.

They spent a lot of time without each other, without any phone call or e-mail. During that time he wrote a few books. He have met a strange man, who told to him, where his wife was. And while he was beding the another, he understood how much he loved his wife, and that he couldn't live without her.

When the time came, he went to look for her. And he was so in love with her, and he was afraid she didn't love him anymore. But she did. She always loved him, but she wasn't sure about him. However, in the very end of the story she boomed out the news of hers. If you ask what kind of news it is, I say to you - it's better read the story yourself :)

What I've learned from the story was time answered to your questions and could give to you more chances. And if you really love, you can do everything for your beloveds.

So, if you are interesting in the story you can visit this web page:

Have a nice day :)

First of all, congratulations for the successfull briefing of the Zahir. But I think, that a part of the love story, we can say in addition to what Pelene had written, that the novel includes more than a love story: universal experience as a human, wars reality (the journalist is a war reporetr); and that there is two histories: the one they give us and the one they don´t never mentionne. A clear example: The worse one of all the human tortures is the cross. Cicerón said that it was an abominable punishment, that caused horrible sufferings until the death. And, nevertheless, nowadays the people hang the cross in their necks or in the walls of their rooms, identifying it like a religious symbol, forgetting that it is a torture instrument. More than that, I can say that the autobiography has choosed Kazajkhtan for his story because of the tradition tengri of this country, a very old tradition, that teaches many things to us. It is spirituality without formal religion. This tradition, that is not based on adoring or in miracles, allows to the nomads and the people that live there, to survive the impact of the established religions. Other thing, Kazakhstan was one of the first countries to get free of nuclear arms after its independence of former sovietic union. At the end, we can conclue that through Literature, it is possible to conciliate the popular culture with the academic one: The popular culture of today is the academic culture of tomorrow. More we know someone, more we understand him, and more human is our behaviour.

MDT.

Thank you mtd2006 for bringing much more ideas what about the novel is.
I had not done it because of a few reasons. First of all, who likes Paulo Coelho's books knows his stories aren't simple ones. Always there are a lot of things to reflect. Secondly, it was really hard to express in brief how much the auther tries to say to his readers in The Zahir.
And one thing more. I don't think that people forget that cross is a torture instrument. On the contrary, they decorate their necks, houses, sanctuaries with crosses, because they remember the tortures of Jesus Christ. And they believe that He dead in order to save the souls of human beings. And that the wrongs things people does make the cross and sufferings much heaver for Christ.
